I recently attended ResOILute Women’s Conference, an event put on by one of my local Diamond Young Living leaders. The theme of the conference was guarding your heart.
During the question and answer session, we were able to hear the heart of the 4 panel discussion experts, each different ranks within Young Living and each with their own story. This was so powerful to me, especially hearing from Sera Johnson.
Sera shared about making it to the top ranks of the company by happily doing her own thing. As she made it to the top, she began to look around at what other people were doing and feel as though she needed to begin doing those things too. It was then that she started to just feel “blah” when it came to sharing. It was a feeling she had never had and she didn’t like it. She grew into more and more of a funk until she finally said “God, I don’t like this! Get me out of this funk, whatever it takes.” So God asked her what she had been doing before. She started thinking on all the things she loved about sharing in Young Living. Just thinking about things that SHE loved started getting her passions back up. When she finally stopped rambling on about what she loved and why, God told her “Well do that.”
Isn’t that incredible?! Just do what you love because I created you to love those things and I created you to shine in those areas. So do it!
It is so easy to look at what others are doing and get distracted from what you love to do, what you are good at, what you are called to do.
That was a huge takeaway for me! She encouraged everyone to find her niche. If you don’t know what that looks like, take a look at your passions. If you have been so caught up with the monotony of everyday life that you have no idea what your passions are, consider what you used to be passionate about. Then consider your strengths. What comes easy to you. If you don’t know, ask someone close to you what strengths and gifts they see in you. Now take a look and see how you can use those things to find your personal niche.
The biggest passion that I want to focus on is strong God-centered marriages. Now I fail in this area daily, but nonetheless I always want to improve and love to encourage other women who also want to be godly wives and mothers. I can do that through my writing. I can also share from my heart on Young Living products that help me and my family in this area.
So be expecting to hear a lot more from me on things I use in my home. I will be here on a more consistent basis, Lord willing!
